I always miss being with family on Easter but the girls were good about sending pics of the kids and calling on Easter day!
Semana Santa is celebrated between Palm Sunday and Easter here in Mexico - we know what to expect now and when to expect it! This year it seemed even MORE people came to the beach than ever - and there's not a lot to do that week except stay at home and watch the action!
Friend Becky and I climbed on top of the house to take these pictures - as you can see, there are campers as far as you can see!
Looking the other way, it's pretty much the same!
We were lucky in the fact that it seemed to be "families" that were camped in front of us - and we enjoyed watching the little ones play and get in the ocean (despite the wind) and just have a fun time! Normally the music is at an ungodly level and sleep is impossible as our bedroom is beachside! But this year, we didn't hear any music which was wonderful! Yes, we had our sound machine on and the fan going with our slider shut but it was still pretty darn quiet after 10:00pm!
The police had a presence again this year and they sat on our wall beside the beach access road - they tried to keep the atvs from going too fast running up and down the beach so it was a pretty peaceful time!
They had several port a potties and the truck to pump them out came 3 times a day on the 3 busiest days - that was a plus! And this year, they all seemed pretty good about keeping the trash picked up too - the picture below is ONE days' trash as the truck came every day to pick it up! Amazing how much there was, and the wire cage behind it is full too!
There was one day Glenn could have fished, but there was no way to get the boat out and back in with all the people on the beach! But otherwise, it was windy!
Jerry's had invited us next door for an Easter Brunch which was very nice - lots of great food and people! And yes, Glenn is pretending to be shorter than he already is! HA!
