We've Declared WAR..........

on the chipmunks!! This last weekend, we spent time planting LOTS of flowers in all of our pots that we keep on the deck - all those pretty blossoms in different shades of yellow, pink, purple and blue!

And then to walk out on the deck on Monday morning to see EVERY blossom eaten off!!

I've noticed we've had an abundance of the cute little devils this year and seems like there is ALWAYS one eating at the bird feeder - which I don't mind - BUT LEAVE THE FLOWERS ALONE!!!

As I was leaving for work this morning, I noticed Glenn stalking our property with a gun in hand - hmmmmmmmm - suppose I should warn the chipmunks?

Sunday Fun!

Can it almost be the end of June and we haven't even taken the ATV out of the garage yet??

We took care of that situation on Sunday when we BOTH were finally home and had a chance to do some riding!! I packed a picnic - Glenn loaded the ATV on our new trailer and remarked how EASY it was to load and we were off!!

The weather was beautiful - hot and sunny with a nice breeze! We ended up about 45 minutes from home in an area we hadn't ridden yet and soon had the ATV loaded and were off and running!!

We had just started riding and turned a corner when we saw TWO big horned sheep right in the meadow beside us - wow - they have some magnificent horns!!

It felt great to be riding!! The roads were a little dusty because of the lack of rain but the mountains in the distant still sported some snow!

We stopped for a picnic in a wooded aspen setting and had fun watching this beautiful gray squirrel - of course he kept climbing higher and higher when I went over to take his picture so the next shot is one of those "FIND" shots where you have to really LOOK to even see him.

If you don't see him, he's almost dead center, a little to the right, sitting on a branch behind some leaves - he was actually in the open when I had the camera but moved at the last minute!

We rode and rode - and we were at the top of this one mountain when we drove over the top to the other side and saw WHAT???? A junkyard - old cars, old trailers, junk upon junk on this road to the right with a sign that said Private Drive!! What an eyesore it was!!

We stayed on our road and went up a little further but soon found the end of the trail and had to come back down - Glenn decided that we would cut over to the private drive on the OTHER side of the junkyard as he thought that just that portion was private - I said no, let's not but he proceeded to anyway!

So we're climbing this steep, rocky, narrow path that really doesn't look like it's used much when I see at the top, a vehicle and a trailer house - yikes - this IS private and we're heading up their driveway!! After seeing all the JUNK below, I've having visions of someone coming out of the trailer with a shotgun, yelling that we're on private property and I'm sure Glenn is thinking the same thing!! He stops the ATV and cuts the engine - about this time I'm thinking - meth lab - crazy people - we may not get out of this alive - ha ha!!!

Well, there is NO place to turn around of course as we have the mountain on one side and a cliff on the other so Glenn does the next best thing - he starts backing - I of course had already jumped off and try to guide him - when he gets to a spot that the ATV won't roll over, I push!! I think we were both shaking in our boots by this time too and it seemed to take FOREVER to get down that path - luckily Glenn is an excellent backer!! And yes, we did make it back down in one piece and got the heck out of dodge!!! NEVER AGAIN, I tell Glenn...........

The rest of the day was thankfully uneventful - and we left a little sunburned, a little sore from riding but with smiles on our faces!!

Discounts Just A Phone Call Away!!

My home phone bill was getting out of hand - yes, we still have a land line because cell phone coverage is pretty sketchy out here and we also have a fax machine AND our internet is tied to our landline!!

So I called up CenturyTel and calmly told them our phone bill was just too high and could they do anything about it? Sure they said - they transferred me to a "specialist" who looked at our account and said she could give us a $20 a month discount, as long as we signed up for another year with them - duh, they are our ONLY choice where we live so that wasn't too difficult a decision!! $20.00 a month - Woo Hoo!!!

At the end of the conversation, the gal asked me about "bundling" and I told her we had Dish and she suggested converting to Direct TV as they were having this great promotion price - it all sounded great AND the best thing was is that it included DVR on our upstairs TV also - during football season, it would SURE be nice to watch a recorded program upstairs while Glenn is downstairs watching sports!!!

I told the gal to call me back in a couple of days and proceeded to check out Direct TV online - it all sounded just like she had told me!! Glenn and I talked about it and decided if there wasn't any charge to quit Dish, we would go ahead and switch but he said to check with Dish FIRST and see if they would be willing to match their price!!

So I call Dish - give them my story about Direct TV's fantastic price and they connected me to a "specialist" and she said - how would a $20.00 a month discount sound to you??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? A discount for JUST calling??? I said absolutely!!! After she put the discount on our account, I proceeded to ask her about DVR for the other TV in our house - what would that charge be to do that??? Here I had just gotten my discount and now was about to spend it again!!

She said she would check and came back on the phone a few minutes later and told me - no charge to upgrade to the whole house DVR and in fact, you're paying a $7.00 extra charge to have a SOLO DVR unit so when we install the new one, you won't have that charge anymore!!!! Now I'm up to a $27.00 discount a month!!!

The tech came out Saturday - installed our new unit downstairs - and we now have DVR on both TV's at ONE FANTASTIC PRICE!!! Let's see - that's $47.00 a month savings - wonder what I should spend that on?????

Becky's 40TH Year Class Reunion!

40 years ago I graduated from high school - 40 years!!! In reality, if you would ask me I would say probably 25 to 30 years ago because that's what it feels like!! But it's not - it's 40 and that just seems impossible to me!!

There are a lot of classmates that are still in the area which makes it nice for the planning!! So a big thank you to Sandy, Sharon and Judy for planning the get together!!

Cocktail hour was at 5:00 and we were meeting at the Moorhead Community Building - I actually had butterflies in my stomach when we walked over to the building - dumb I know!! But as soon as I saw some of my friends, my face broke out in a smile and I didn't stop smiling all evening!!

All in all, it was ONE great time!! Was there a good turn out?? NO - out of the 40 graduates, we've lost 4 already and 14 showed up for the reunion! This picture is of the girls (minus one who came later) as we were talking outside!!

Here's a picture of all of us - 11 girls - 3 guys!!

And here's a close up of the 3 guys who came!

We all had a ball - talking and laughing and just catching up with each other!! Our catered meal was great although I don't think I even tasted it as I was too busy talking!!

Sandy read a poem she had written for the occasion and we played an OLD cassette tape from our last spring concert! Ah, memories..................

I was glad I made the effort to fly in for the reunion - who knows how many may not be with us the next time we get together!! Thanks for a great time everyone!!

Back To Iowa!

3:30 am last Thursday morning was early - darn early - when am I ever going to learn to quit booking these early morning flights? I guess the nice thing about driving to Denver at that time is that there isn't any traffic and you get to see the sun rise!!

I knew this was going to be a good flight - no delays - no sitting in Row 1 again!

Caribou Coffee was first on the agenda while Glenn got a breakfast sandwich to share - and then it was off to the gate! Only to hear the disappointing news that the stewardess had car trouble and the flight would be delayed - GRRRRRR - not happy!! An hour later we FINALLY got to board - I walked up to the attendant and gave her my boarding pass (this trip had been booked for a couple of months) and she immediately said "Oh, you can't sit in those seats - we'll have to rebook you" - she put our passes to the side and typed in something and printed out new passes and handed them to us - "You're in Row 1". This just can't be happening AGAIN - but it is - and we're in the first row again - now it wouldn't be so bad if these were the types of planes that actually had FIRST CLASS but they're not - what you get for sitting in the front row is more leg room of course - but NO lap tray so you get to hold your drink in your hand - and your backpack can't go under the seat in front of you because there IS no front so it HAS to be put up with the luggage!! And I musn't forget to mention the WALL that's in front of you!! Oh well - I'm getting good at this now!!

Flying into Omaha and seeing all the flooding was hard to describe!! You couldn't tell where the Missouri River even was SUPPOSED to be because of all the flooding around it - water everywhere you looked!! On the route that we usually take from the airport, you could see the green signs sticking up above the water with just a little bit of the wood post showing !!

We got our rental car and headed a different way up to Onawa - fields and fields of water - homes with only the roof showing - it was very humbling!

On the interstate, we could see Glenn's moms' home - the driveway was almost covered with water but the water has NOT reached the house yet - we're praying it doesn't!

We spent the afternoon with relatives and then headed over to Patty and Leonard's place where we spent the next 3 nights. It's always fun to stay there and hang out with them, although Leonard was working a lot and didn't have much time to spend with us this trip!!

Thursday was one of those GREAT days that you rarely have - Patty and I spent the entire day just TALKING!! No kids around - no grand kids around - just her and I!!!! It was fun to just visit and visit through coffee, lunch and happy hour!! We all headed to Jim and Brenda's that evening for a fantastic steak dinner and spent the evening laughing and catching up!

Saturday I visited Cheri's store in Soldier - it's such a cute place and I even bought 3 tops and a darling jacket!!

And before I knew it, it was time for my 40th Year Class Reunion!! Stay tuned for the next blog!

Oh, Those Tasty Aspen Trees!

I was looking out the window when I got home from work today and saw a couple of deer eating away at the grass - the next time I looked, one of them was climbing up on the log pile!!

Sure enough, he just wanted a bite of that aspen leaf!!

Parkers' Baptism Day

Parker was certainly happy on his Baptism Day!! He even posed well for pictures!!

A couple of outside shots before we headed to church!!

There we met Jaime, Jessi and the 4 kids (Gary had to work and Brad was out of town) and also Robby's mom Bev and her husband Mike! We were a little disappointed to hear that Evan and Kylan were too old for nursery and there was no Sunday School during this service!! YIKES!! Luckily, Mackenzie was willing to stay in the nursery so we just had the 2 boys to keep quiet during church - and they did great!!

Once again, we tried to get a picture of the 6 grand kids - this was the best of the lot - but no matter, they're STILL the cutest and best grand kids around!!

Jaime and Jessi were Parker's sponsors - they even color coordinated their clothes!!

Back to the house for a yummy lunch and a special cake for Parker!! It was fun watching Aleah and Mackenzie play together for a little bit!! They'll be special cousin friends some day!!

Robby and Jill opened their gifts and we spent the afternoon visiting and watching the kids play outside!!

I love this picture of Evan throwing up dry mowed grass in the air! Carefree - happy - smiling!!

And then it was time to head back to the mountains - sad to leave the kids but happy to get home where there are relatively NO mosquitoes!!! Thanks Robby and Jill for a great weekend!!

Ft Collins Bound!

After completing ANOTHER online continuing education course after work on Friday, my eyes were blurry from being at the computer TOO long!!

It was time to head to Ft. Collins for a weekend with Robby and Jill and the kids!! Luckily, the traffic wasn't bad at all driving up there - but getting out of the car with our bags and into the house without getting bitten by the hordes of mosquitoes in Ft. Collins was something else!! Yes, they got me - right on the arm!! Of course Jill has learned that in the evenings and in the mornings, you don't go outside unless absolutely necessary and THEN you need to be armed with a LOT of Deet!!!

Oh my, has Parker grown!! He's one little chunk!! And he's all smiles!!

Saturday morning Jill had to work till noon so Glenn and I took Aleah in the stroller and walked around the neighborhood which was having their community wide garage sale!! Aleah LOVED being strolled and hardly made a peep the entire time, even though we were gone for almost 2 hours and it got pretty hot out!!

As usual, Glenn found items to buy and without even enough cash on us, he had to drive back later to pay the people and pick up the items!! At least we got our exercise for the day!!

Jill and I had a nice afternoon preparing for the next days' baptism and playing with the kids! She fixed some great lime cilantro chicken burritos for dinner and also we pigged out on the best watermelon I've had yet this summer!!

The guys decided to go OUT to a movie since Jill and I were watching a chick flick!! They couldn't decide between the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie or Super X and ended up going to the latter - said it was OK but not fantastic like the reviews said!! Jill and I, on the other hand, saw a great DVD - Life As We Know It - highly recommended!!

I'll leave you with a darling picture of Parker - and continue with his baptism tomorrow!!

Tornados - Floods - Wildfires

Seems like everytime I turn on the news, there's some major weather happening in some part of the United States!!

Here in Colorado, we never have to worry about flooding up in the mountains, nor tornados but the wildfires seem to be a summer constant!! Luckily, our area has steered clear of them so far this year, but there are 3 burning in other parts of the state!! The Arizona wildfire has caused severe smoke to blow into our area and for 3 days, the peak couldn't be seen because of the smoke!! Yes, the smoke bothered me and I did cough a lot - couldn't sit out in the evenings very long because of it - but yesterday the smoke blew out of here and Pikes Peak is again in full view!

And for the flooding back in Iowa??? WOW - it's been real tough for a lot of people, especially Glenn's mom Lolly who had to completely evacuate last week - her home out in the country sits about 1/2 mile from the Missouri River and it's possible that by this weekend, it will be completely flooded! Luckily she has lots of family around that brought in trailers and a semi and they completely stripped the house, garage and barn and stored it all in several different places around the area - she's living with a great-granddaughter at this time in a town that shouldn't flood!

Glenn's son Neal lives in Blencoe which is also in danger of flooding - the town had some heavy equipment brought in and basically has built a berm all around the town, in hopes of saving it! It sits pretty low on the bottom ground in that area!

What a tough time for all the people that live along the Missouri River - every night when I get home, I look at all the pictures and videos on Facebook that my sister has been good enough to post to keep all of us "Iowans" that no longer live there, in touch with what's happening!!

We'll be flying back to Iowa next week for my 40th class year reunion - and hopefully the flooding won't be as bad as they think................

A Visit From The Keppy's!

Had it really been 6 months since Jessi's had been to our house?? YES - it had and it was so great to have her and the 2 kids visit for 2 nights this last weekend!!

Weather wise it was a great weekend!! Some sunshine, some clouds but all in all no complaints - well, I take that back - it WAS windy on Saturday afternoon for our outdoor tea party!!

Evan was excited when Papa decided to work on the hot tub (the motor went out). He got his box of tools and did his best to help out!! He ran into the house once saying he needed to get his "safety" goggles as Papa told him they were needed - so that's just what he did!!

Saturday morning Papa made pancakes with his new pancake squirt bottle and the kids loved their special ones!

After breakfast we were off to the city-wide garage sale!! Luckily, the sun wasn't beating down so it was a nice walk through the high school parking lot!! Jessi bought a couple of things - I ended up with a humidifier (my yearly purchase it seems - but for $2.00 you just can't beat it), 4 books and the most exciting deal - a new espresso maker!!! I had been checking online for a new one since my old one doesn't steam the milk hot any longer, just barely lukewarm!! There was one for sale that had never been out of the box for a whopping $15.00 and it works perfectly!!

Then it was off to get coffee for Jessi and I and smoothies for the kiddos which we all drank at the neat playpark at the elementary school!! There's SO much to do there!

Aren't these two just as cute as can be???

The rest of the day was spent mostly outside - with Evan riding the bike and Kenzie strolling the doll buggy up and down the deck!! Evan and I did play with one of our new outside games and had fun doing that!

Also on the docket was a tea party with REAL water as Evan puts it!! It's nice to have it outside so if there's a spill (and there usually is), it's no problem at all!! Yes, it was a little windy but still fun!!

Jessi and I made yummy spicy chicken linguine for dinner!! Her kids go to bed really well and it's always fun to watch a movie with Jessi - especially a chick flick - but the one we chose was not that great at all - it was called The Switch and I honestly wouldn't recommend it!!

Coffee on the deck the next morning was wonderful!! Jessi made us all laugh when she attempted to hula-hoop!! I guess I don't think much about it as I do it as part of my regular exercise routine but Jessi actually wasn't good at it at all - that's OK - she beat me twice at Bananagrams again so it's nice to know I can do SOMETHING better than her!!

Evan came running in a little later and said I had to get my camera and take a picture of him in the wheelbarrow with Papa pushing him in it!! "Just like Ranya's picture" he said!! Many years ago Glenn put Rayna in the wheelbarrow and pushed her all around - I took a picture of it and it has been on Jaime's refrigerator for years!! Apparently he wanted one just like it for his frig!!

After cinnamon rolls, the troop headed back to Denver with promises of returning again this summer!! What a fun weekend we had - now if only the cleaning fairy would come and do the laundry and clean the house!!

Memorial Day Weekend Camping

Camping time!! Even though we had been gone for 3 days, I had already asked for Friday off so we could do a LONG 3 day weekend camping trip - and so we decided to go ahead with our plans!! After a very busy day at work, it was home to unpack the car from our trip to Iowa and then start repacking for a camping trip!!

4:30 came early the next morning - but we had to get to Denver to hook up to Brad's boat and then Brad, Jaime and the kids were following us with their trailer!! Now the original plans were to go to Wyoming to Glendo - but after checking the weather report on Thursday night (rain and a high of 50 for Saturday) we opted to switch our plans and go to Kansas instead to Cedar Bluff Lake. Glenn and I had been there a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed it!!

The caravan headed out and it was ONE LONG TRIP !! I think we forgot how long the trip exactly was AND kind of forgot to factor in the high cost of gas - yikes!!!

But we finally arrived - and were very disappointed that the spots by the lake were ALREADY filled up - darn - and we actually got the last spot in the primitive area!! But it was a nice large place with lots of grass and trees surrounding the spot!

We quickly set up camp and the guys left to put the boat in the water and fish!!

Since Rayna had rode most of the way with us, I had filled her in on the neat nature trail this place has so she of course wanted to head there right away!!

As soon as she walked into the trail, she said WOW and thoroughly enjoyed walking it and reading all the interesting information along the way!!

We had a great weekend - playing lots of outdoor games with the kids, eating, resting and some relaxing!!

I brought little gifts for the kids each day and here they're playing cards up in our camper - I LOVE Kylan's expression!! He must have one great hand of cards!!

THE GUYS CAUGHT FISH - HOORAY!! They were both all smiles when they returned late that afternoon with their catch of the day!!

The next day Jaime decided to fish with the guys for a little while so we once again hit the nature trail, this time with Kylan in tow!! He rode his little bike with training wheels and did great - but we took lots of rests and of course had to push him up the small inclines!! It was HOT and a long walk to even get there - probably about a mile each way so we were tired by the time we got back!!

We only got to have a campfire the first night!! The next 2 nights it was JUST too windy!! But the kids enjoyed their s'mores the first night and were happy about that!!

Yes, the windy came up on Sunday afternoon - and I mean WIND!!! The humidity was high and we thought for sure a storm was blowing in but no rain, just a hot, hot wind!! IN fact, it was so hot that Kylan stripped down to his underwear and the only thing the rest of us could do was to sit in our chairs by the side of the truck where the shade was!! ONE HOT DAY!!

Check out those white legs!!

We figured the wind would die down in the evening but it didn't - and it was a miserable night sleeping in that camper with the wind whipping the canvas - it was so loud you couldn't even sleep - I kept putting my hands over my ears, just to drown out the noise!!

By Monday morning we were ready to head out because the wind just wouldn't stop!! SO we packed up and headed back to Colorado, only to find out the wind was blowing there too!! OH well - a great Memorial Day Weekend!!

Iowa

It felt good to be back among family and friends!! Because Dusty and Glenn (the 2 sons) rarely get back to Iowa at the same time, it was great for them to catch up with each other AND to sort through their dad's things!

They enjoyed trying on his Ranger jacket and decided he must have been a LOT smaller when he wore it, many many years ago!!

We all spent the day visiting with relatives and reminiscing about old times!!

That night, we headed to the airport for a 10:15 pickup of Jaime and Brad who were flying in for the funeral - it was a downpour and a little hard to see where we were even going!! Naturally, their flight was late due to the weather but at least they made it in and we crawled back to Patty's through the rain!

A funny story I forgot to mention yesterday - after picking up the rental car, we stopped at Missouri Valley (where we used to live) and I ran into Arby's to get us some food for the road. It was dusk and Glenn started driving and eating! I was bent over eating my sandwich and trying NOT to make a complete mess when I heard raindrops - large raindrops - hitting the windshield and thought to myself that we were going to get a nice shower!! No way - I forgot we were in Iowa - it wasn't raindrops at all but bugs hitting the windshield!!! And yes, the windshield was SO covered in bug juice that we had to clean it the next morning before we took off!!

When we reached Patty's house late Tuesday night, Jaime reached into her bag and presented me with my Mother's Day gift from all 3 girls - YES - I was published once again - I now have my third book of blogging and pictures gracing my coffee table at home!! THANKS GIRLS - I LOVE IT!!

It poured rain on Wednesday - a hard cold rain that was especially miserable during the outdoor military ceremony at the funeral - I always think it's very touching to watch the military unfold and fold back up the flag and to hear Taps played on the trumpet - Glenn nudged me during the playing of Taps and whispered that he should have played it! He played it many times during his high school years and it sure would have been a nice tribute to his dad - but was just something we never thought about..........

That evening we enjoyed dinner out with Patty and Leonard and then went back to their house where my brother stopped in and also my niece and her husband. We stayed up as long as we could but bedtime beckoned since we had a 3:45am wake up call in order to get to Omaha to catch our flight home - and yes, our seats were much better on the way home with an uneventful flight!

It was kind of strange arriving in Denver at 7:30am and both of us heading to work as soon as we got back to Woodland Park - a LONG day.......

Plane vs. Car ????????

We chose of course to fly to Iowa for the funeral vs driving - for once it was a WRONG choice!!
Both of us worked a couple of hours Monday morning to get stuff organized for the week and left for Denver around 10:30am - we arrived at Patty's house in Iowa at 10:00pm that night - do the math - it was ONE LONG DAY!!!

Of course I chose NOT to take my laptop since I knew we could check our emails at Patty's - again, a wrong choice...............

Normally we go RIGHT to our gate and THEN get something to eat - this time for some unknown reason (probably since we were flying United instead of Frontier on the way out, we weren't as familiar with the places to eat and saw a cute little place and just decided to eat BEFORE we headed to the gate) - wrong choice again!!

By the time we got to the gate, we had just walked past a United customer service place and the line there was LONG - not thinking anything about it, we walked by and our gate was the next one - no one was there - so we set all our stuff down and pulled out our boarding passes, just assuming we had read the gate wrong - we hadn't - I walked over to the ticket counter and asked and the guy said "Yes, the flight was CANCELLED!!" Are you kidding??????

So of course he told us to get in the customer service line to rebook - we were NOT happy campers at all - stood in line about 45 minutes, just knowing that we were not going to get rebooked that evening and sure enough, we were rebooked the next morning!! But of course we could go standby with the other 100 people who wanted to fly out yet that day!!

We walked to the next flight gate and sat down, pondering what to do - there actually was another customer service place right there so I went up and asked HOW they did standby because I had no idea who would get first choice - it was then I found out that the standby people are chosen because of either the price they paid for their flight OR if they're a preferred flyer with United. I knew we were doomed because we never fly United to Iowa, always Frontier.

Glenn decided to check the schedules and found flights going to Des Moines, Sioux Falls, and Lincoln, along with the 2 Omaha flights - so back up to the rep to see if we could be on standby for Lincoln since our chances of getting on there were MUCH higher (of course all 3 of those flights were completely booked!!). At that point, we found out we could only be on ONE standby list so we opted for the Lincoln flight!

Back up to that gate - and in the meantime calling Patty to see how far Sioux Falls was from Sioux City to see if that would be an option and it was, in case the Lincoln flight fell through! By this time, I desperately needed some coffee and sure enough, there was a Caribou Coffee WAY at the other end so I hiked there and relished drinking that cup!!

Much of our waiting time was spent calling Glenn's mom, Jaime and Jessi and Patty!! But FINALLY they were boarding for Lincoln - we patiently waited and the gal at the gate called our names and said it was looking good - and it was - we BOTH made the standby list!! HOORAY!!

I was in row one and Glenn was in the last row - row 13 - and it wasn't a lucky seat for him at all - the flight was super rough because of the storms (and they actually had shut DIA airport down for a while because of all the lightning!) so it didn't make for a fun flight!!

Of course, I was the first one off the plane and kept waiting for more people to come - finally a lady right behind me told me that everyone on the plane had to remain seated for a while because of an emergency!!

Glenn finally appeared - I was panicking by this point, thinking something had happened to HIM - and he told me the story - we've laughed and laughed about this - apparently not long after the plane took off, this younger guy came running back towards the ONLY bathroom on the plane, holding the barf bag and running into the bathroom - Glenn's seat was right there of course - and the poor guy was NOT having fun at this point!!

But the guy never came out - NEVER - another gal came back to use the bathroom and she kept knocking and the guy kept yelling out "BUSY" - this went on and on and finally the flight attendant got involved but he just kept opening the door a little ways and yelling "BUSY".

It was time to land the plane and he would NOT come out - so of course security had to be called from the plane and when we landed, police and security and paramedics all came in to attend to the guy which is why the rest of the plane had to remain seated. He just kept telling everyone he has a hard time flying and has to spend the entire time in the bathroom - maybe the guy shouldn't fly??? You think?????

So now we're in Lincoln - of course I'd had to call Omaha and cancel our rental car there - so went to get one and Enterprise says they have NO cars to rent (since we had to return the car to Omaha as that's where our departing flight flew out of) - next to the Avis counter and yes they have a car and no problem returning it to Omaha - BUT - the price was triple what we had booked in Omaha - oh my...................we did get the girl to keep checking and did get the price down a little bit but it was sure one expensive rental car!

Luckily the drive from Lincoln to Omaha is not TOO far and we finally made it to Patty's at 10:00 that night, utterly exhausted from our all day trip - we could have driven and made it in 9 or 10 hours - but you just never know.................
