Time To Say Goodbye to Baja!

The tubs and bags are packed and ready to be put in the car -  the boat and ATV and all the things we keep down here are stored over at our friends' place - and one more dinner with friends tonight completes our time here!

And we're both ready!  The weather has turned hot - and I can handle heat but I just don't handle humidity well anymore!  So it must be time to head home!  Since it's light by 5:30 we will head out right about that time!

So I better post the few pics I took in April because once I get home, it always seems like there is a LOT to do!

Just a nice walk along the beach in the morning time - I met a new friend last year and she came for a week this year so we walked a couple of times together and I went to her house one afternoon - her and her husband live in Sedalia - small world!

We went up to Eric and Hillary's (they spend the last 2 weeks at a different place) a week ago and ran into the goat herd - I think we've seen ALL the local animals now - HA!

Look what parked behind our car one day - I've NEVER seen a tractor trailer down here by the beach!

We celebrated Jo's birthday AND Brenda's last night here at Tio Pablo's - great food and company!

I FINALLY caught a ray jumping!!  I can't believe how long they have been around this year, jumping and splashing!!  They're just a joy to watch!

I caught the orange when the sun rose!!  All of these people are in front of the Spa Hotel, waiting to get on charter boats to fish!

I love this picture!

We hadn't been to Lily's yet so decided to go there - Eric and Hillary, Becky and Larry - and Becky's sister and her husband!  We had a wonderful time with great food!

And last night was the pink moon - it actually looked VERY pink when it rose but faded as it got higher!

Good-bye Baja.......Until next year.......

Here Fishy Fishy

Sherry picked the ABSOLUTELY best week to fish -  4 days of fishing and both Glenn and Sherry were thrilled to be able to fish that much!  There was even another day they could have fished but they needed a rest day - HA!

First time out wasn't a great haul but Glenn actually caught a shark and brought it in - we had heard that shark meat is wonderful - we cooked a little bit of it and it was fine - gave the rest away to a couple of people and both sets loved it!  I guess everyone has their "own" favorites of fish!

Sherry and I walked over to Hillary's for a little while and enjoyed sitting outside on their patio - they sure have a beautiful view!

I LOVE this picture of brother and sister!!  All ready to head out fishing!

They had a fun day fishing and even took a few pics on the water!  I never get pictures on the boat so was happy to get a couple!

They had a great time fishing together with lots of stories to tell when they came in each day!

And in case you ever wondered if fish have teeth, here's a trigger fish!!  Our favorite fish to eat!

We sure enjoyed having Sherry here and the week went fast before we headed back to the airport for her trip back home!

Our Final Guest

Glenn's sister Sherry was our final guest to arrive!  We were excited to pick her up at the airport and head back to Las Cuevas for lunch!!  And check out our lunch companions!  Those chicks were so darn cute!

Take a peek at what Sherry made for me!!!  WOW - I was totally impressed!  Perfect decor for the glass table top coffee table and a perfect place to put glass and seashells!  Sherry is not only creative but quite artistic!

We had been watching for the sunset that night and were starting dishes because nothing of any color was showing - but in a minutes' time, I peeked out and the colors were starting so we both took a couple of pics and then headed out to the beach!

OH YES - an awesome sunset!!

Grill night over at the Spa Hotel so you can bet we were there - Sherry and I both had the shrimp/brisket baked potatoes and Glenn had ribs - all VERY yummy!

A great start to her week here!

This 'n That

Life is good - the beach is just a great place to unwind and collect your thoughts - and Mexico just "moves" at such a slower pace that you don't feel rushed!  Lazy days - full of walking the beach and visiting with friends and get togethers with the "girls" down here!

Glenn had a project to do down here this time - he is basically redoing this pillar that holds up the roof of the porch - it was getting really bad with the rebar actually showing - he worked on it  3 or 4 times a week with just an hour or so each time and is almost finished!  The company that owns this house is just taking his work against part of the rent!  Sure gave him something to do when the wind blows!

The sunsets have been almost more amazing this year than the sunrises!  If there's a few clouds in the sky late afternoon, you can bet I'm waiting for the sunset!

We had a surprise birthday party for friend Brenda over at the Spa Hotel - about 12 of us had brunch and had a lovely time.  Unfortunately a little over a week later, her husband Dale passed away down here!  We were all in shock - but he passed peacefully as went to bed and never woke up!  Sure a sad time........

Just a normal sunrise - but you still can't beat it as you're walking the beach in the early morning hours!

Between 9:30 and 11:00 is the PERFECT time to sit on the porch and just LOOK at the sea!  And of course drink coffee - THIS IS PARADISE!

The donkeys came by one day - it was the first time we'd seen them down this way on the beach!

The sun shines - the waves roll in - and life is fantastic!
