Colorado Northern Lights!!!

 Oh my, it's December and I haven't blogged November yet - taking 2 trips almost back to back makes it tough to stay on top of everything!!

But anyway, here goes!!

On Nov. 11th, I KNEW there was a chance that we could see the Northern Lights, even here in Colorado - but I wasn't expecting much!  I figured I would go out about 9:00pm and check it out - but my sister in Iowa texted me that she was looking at them and to get outside and see if I could see them!!  WOW - it was early in the evening and I was SO glad she texted!

I went out on the back deck with my camera - I could see some red in the sky to the north and when I put my camera up to it, oh my gosh, I could see the red lights!

I ran into the house, put on a coat and some shoes and headed out the front door to the north!  OMG - there they were  -  beautiful Northern Lights in the sky!!!  I couldn't stop smiling and taking pictures!!

I did run back to the house once and tell Glenn he needed to come out and see them!

And I did walk over towards the neighbors' house to get a better view as we have so many trees!  But when I got TOO close, the big yard light came on so I had to back away once again!

But I love this picture as it's about 1/2 way from our house to our neighbors' house and it has the flag in it - kind of cool!!

It took a LONG time before I came down from my "high" from seeing these beautiful colors!!!  And I was very surprised that we saw red and purple here since we only saw the green in Iceland!!

How lucky am I to see those Northern Lights twice in 30 days - WOW!!!
