Just Can't Stay Away

Rayna has had 2 knee surgeries in the past 2 years so was unable to play volleyball last year - and we never thought she WOULD play again due to the fact we didn't want to see her go through another surgery!

So she became manager of the Woodland Park Volleyball Team and has enjoyed doing that all season and becoming reacquainted with all the volleyball girls!  Because she loves the game so much, she had begun to practice a little bit with the girls towards the end of the season!

I was totally shocked when she called and said the coach was going to allow her to play on the "C" team and some on the JV team!  So could we come to her game?   Of course - but I was extremely apprehensive worrying about her knee!

But there were only 2 meets left so we headed into the home game to watch her play!

She played the entire time on the "C" game (which they won) and then filled it about 1/2 the time on the JV team which they also won!

It was sure fun seeing her on the court again, enjoying volleyball!

Because she'll be a senior next year, her only chance of playing is to make the varsity squad which could be pretty tough after sitting out for almost 2 years!  But knowing Rayna, she'll head to a couple of volleyball camps this summer and try her best - good luck!!
