As hard as it is to leave Baja, it's exciting to know that we will back home soon!!
Since Baja doesn't go on Daylight Savings Time, the sun comes up mighty early so we left the house by 5:15! And the sunrise was gorgeous as we were headed out!
We sure pass some beautiful beaches on our way! And the sky was super blue and bright all day!
It was a long day but we made it to the yurts late afternoon and Glenn's beer and tequila shot and my Pina Colada were delicous!! We made an early night of it after dinner and I took this picture of the ceiling which is always cool in the yurts!
After a great breakfast, we headed out! Right outside San Ignacio seems to be the worst federali stop in all of Baja - sometimes they make you get out of your car and thoroughly search your car - we've always had pretty good luck though!! This time was no different - they actually just waved us through without even us stopping - WOW!! That's a first!!
The directions into Algodones were not quite right on google maps so we did have to go around a few streets to get in line - I took pictures for next year so it shouldn't be a problem!! Because it was late afternoon, there was quite the line so we spent about 40 minutes waiting! There was a teen saxaphone player serenading us as we were in line!! I had to take a picture and send to Evan (who plays the saxaphone) and tell him he could actually make money this way - HA!! (And trust me, Evan was TWICE the player that this kid was!!)
It was a quick trip to our hotel in Yuma and it felt great to get out of the car and then walk to a BBQ place for dinner!! The following night we chose a different hotel in Albuquerque than our usual one and it was very nice!! (We will stay there again!!) It looked like on the map there was a Burger King about a block away that we could walk to and that would be fine with us as we're always ready for a burger and fries and DO NOT want to get back in the car and find a place to eat! Little did we know that it was just a few steps away from he hotel - perfect!!
The following day is always a shorter day to get home but of course we have to stop and get groceries before we get to the house! But I think we arrived home about 3:00!! And this is what greeted us as we walked in the front door!!
We both laughed and laughed and I wasn't sure who had done this - neighbor Alan or Brad - and come to find out, it was Alan!! And I love how the deer is reading my blog book!!
Our OWN BED never felt SO GOOD!!!!
