My Own Herb Garden

I LOVE my herb garden that Jaime gave me for Mothers Day!!  I've never had one before and it's fun cutting the garlic chives for our baked potatoes!!  There's also cilantro that's ready to pick so guess I better be making some Mexican dishes here soon!

It looks great sitting in my window sill and so far, the herbs are doing great!!  THANKS JAIME!

My Favorite Gift

I always look forward to Mother's Day because I KNOW what the girls are giving me - a hard bound copy of my blogs and pictures from the previous year!!!  Take a peek at the books I've collected over the past few years!!

I love the cover of my new book that I opened on Sunday - it has my favorite picture of the grandkids which makes it extra special!!!  Thanks Jaime, Jill and Jessi for the BEST GIFT EVER!!

Happy Mother's Day!

What a CUTE cookie Jill brought down!  The kids LOVED eating the frosting!

Jill and I had planned on seeing a movie this last weekend but the 2 movies that we would have enjoyed both moved on and the two that came were NOT movies we wanted to see.  So we did the next best thing - called over to Cripple Creek to see if we could get in for tea on Saturday afternoon!

AND WE DID!!  Jill had never been over there for tea so she was in for a real treat!  Glenn watched the kids and we headed over for 12:00 tea!  The owner had the table set for spring!  And even had cute little mirrors in darling bags at our table for a Mothers Day gift!

I think Jill was very surprised by all the food we received!  First up was a fruit bowl which consisted of cantaloupe, fresh peaches and grapes!  I was full by the time I stopped eating that!

We decided the cucumber sandwiches were the best!  Since the little ham ones had mustard and Jill isn't fond of that, I traded the hummus for the ham and it all worked out good!!

Jill tried a couple of different teas as like me, she is not a big tea drinker but 1/2 the fun is just drinking out of those darling cups!

For dessert we had the usual sconces with homemade whipped cream but the other part was switched up to a huge piece of delicious lemon pie - wow was it rich!!  We talked and talked and decided it would be fun to bring the little girls over here - the owner said we just need to let her know and she'll plan it out!

Sunday we woke up to gray cloudy skies with snow moving in!!  Parker and Aleah couldn't wait to hand me my gift and card (which I'll blog about next)!  A quick picture and then we loaded Jill and the kids up as it had started to snow by mid-morning!  Unfortunately she had a tough drive home on Mothers Day..............Thanks for coming down Jill - it was a great weekend!!

Work Is More Fun.................

when the grand kids visit!
Jill and the kids stopped at our work before heading out to the house on Friday afternoon!  Papa put them on the forklift and the smiles started!

After we got the kids to bed that night, Jill and I enjoyed my Mother's Day present from Glenn - he had finally fixed the hot tub on Thursday night - along with the help of a spa expert!  The hot tub felt SO GOOD!!!  The stars were out and I had forgotten how good it felt to just relax in that hot water and watch the stars!

Glenn is building a green house!  He had it all framed in and on Saturday morning Jill and I helped him put the plastic on!  It's cute as can be and pretty large - after finishing it on Sat. afternoon, he put his plants in it that he has been growing for the last month under a grow light in the house!

Aleah and Parker thought it made a great play house!  It was pretty windy out for a while but was nice and warm in the green house! (we'll see how it holds up as of Sunday morning, a blizzard has set in and we've probably received about 10" of snow as I write on Sunday night!)

One of the most fun things to do when the grand kids come to visit is to get in the hot tub or the swimming pool as they call it!  But since it hasn't been up and running for the past 6 months, they haven't been able to get in...........both kids couldn't wait to get in Sat. morning and they thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Then it was tea time - one of Aleah's favorite things to do at Nana's!!  I served honey nut cheerios, grapes and raspberries! The wind had picked up so much that we ended up having tea inside so all the little princess plates and cups wouldn't blow away!  And then it was time for the ADULTS to have tea..........To Be Cont'd

3 Years Of Business/Happy Anniversary!

What a beautiful Saturday afternoon for Jessi's 3rd anniversary of Keppy Chiropractic!  This is the first year that Glenn and I have been able to attend and she had her party at the perfect place - Centennial Park!  I've blogged before about this neat park as there are so many things for the kids to do and in the summer, it becomes a splash park also!

Despite a little bit of wind, it was nice and warm out and she had a great turnout!  Gary worked the blender station and made green smoothies for whoever wanted them - yum - fruit and greens - extremely healthy and they tasted awesome!

Kenzie sure looked cute in her dress and mom is putting a tattoo on her arm - I even got one and they were all chiropractic related!!
The cake was delicious!!  There was quite a spread of food to eat and also many games to play!

I didn't get a picture of Evan this time but Kylan looked so cute that I had to take his picture!!  Him and Evan weren't around much as they were out playing at the park!

Congratulations Jessi on 3 fabulous years of being in business for YOURSELF!!  What an accomplishment!!  And from all the comments that your clients made about you, I KNOW they feel the same way I do!

Flag Football With Kylan

Saturday morning in Denver found us at Kylan's flag football practice and game!  He really seems to enjoy this sport and does very well at it!  It's a good thing I took a couple of pictures of practice because there was no way I could have captured all these little guys running all over the field!

Glenn, Rayna and friend Kealy enjoyed practicing with Kylan until the real practice started!!

Soon enough the game began and Kylan immediately got the ball and ran the length of the field for the first touchdown - we were thrilled!!

It was warm out - no, it was downright HOT out!!  The sun was so intense that we ended up getting umbrellas out of the car to use!!  The heat felt GREAT as it's just starting to warm up in the mountains so I didn't mind sweating a little bit!!

Kylan's team ended up winning the game and we were so glad we could watch him play!  Then it was off to the next event...................

BEWARE of Bison!

So said the sign as we headed towards a client's home behind locked gates on this huge, huge ranch!  Our client had purchased 200 acres of this 28,000 acre ranch between Hartsel and Canon City and there is a huge herd of buffalo on this ranch!

I wanted a picture of a baby but the sun was in the wrong spot and the baby didn't want to leave mama's side so the picture didn't turn out at all - but this one did and it's kid of neat how the hide looks pretty rugged this time of year - wonder if he's trying to shed part of it for the summer!

It was nice to actually get out of the office and see a kitchen that was already installed in this new home - the granite was called Red Dragon and was a deep maroon/red and black - it looked beautiful in the new house and I know the client loved it!
