What a beautiful day we had to celebrate all the things we are thankful for!! Glenn and I headed to Denver early Thursday morning with a packed car and smiling faces - it was going to be a great 3 days!
My day was brightened when Gary called from work (yes, he had to work but had a long lunch break so we had to make sure dinner was ready by 11:30 so he could eat!!) and said there was a Caribou Coffee a couple blocks from where he was at and would I like a cup of coffee???? ABSOLUTELY!! The last Caribou I had was at the Denver airport last May - it was DELICIOUS!!! THANKS GARY!!
We unloaded and organized and the day was started!!
First on the agenda was filling the paper turkeys with candy for the place setting name cards! The girls did the candy corn and the boys did the m and m's.
Evan had printed all the names when he was at our house a few weeks ago!
Check out Jessi's new hat!! We all loved it!
Everyone pitches in to help and it's an easy process to get the meal ready - even when you have to have it ready early!!
Brad is ready to attack that turkey!!
Can you tell the kids were excited???
Our meal was amazing: turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, corn pudding, homemade crescent rolls (by Jessi - delicious!!), relish tray, orange juice jello salad, cranberry salad, pumpkin and apple pie, and key lime pie!! Hooray for leftovers!!
After clean up I played Thanksgiving bingo with the kids - always a hit!! And yes, we use m & m's as markers and if you win, you get to eat two - if you lose, you only get to eat one! So it's a win win situation!!
And finally, one last craft - a food one of course!! They did turn out pretty cute!!
And what am I thankful for this year? Just take a peek again at all of the above pictures - that's what I'm thankful for - my wonderful girls, son in law's, and grand kids! And of course the best husband around!!
