3 Kinds of Sports

It's fall - and the 3 grandsons are all playing a different sport!  Kylan plays soccer, Evan is on the track team and Parker plays baseball!  Glenn and I made it to a game to see each one play and thoroughly enjoyed that!

Kylan's game was in Co. Springs so it was easy to run a couple of errands, watch his game and then go out for coffee and bagels!  He played great!!

After our fall trip, we headed to Denver to watch Evan compete in his district track meet!  He ran in 2 relays and did the long jump!  It was so fun to watch him!  Middle school sports are certainly different than grade school!

And after Denver, we headed up to Ft. Collins to watch Parker play baseball!  He has certainly improved since last year and got a couple of great hits along with tagging an out on second base!

Backing up to our time at Denver, the track meet was HOT - and I mean HOT!!!!!  We were sitting in an outside stadium where no breeze seemed to blow!  Jessi and I finally walked back to her car which was a long ways away and got a couple of umbrellas to use!

And we would take breaks to go sit in the shade!!  A couple of tall lemonades helped ease the heat but it was darn hot!!

Our time was short in Ft. Collins but we made the best of it!!  I can't even remember what Parker was eating off his plate but he sure was licking every speck off!

I was prepared for more HEAT in Ft. Collins but there was a lot of cloud cover late afternoon for the game and we weren't hot at all!  Aleah is enjoying her sno cone - I wasn't jealous though as I've never been a fan of those icy things!!

Very early Monday morning we headed to Denver (amidst rush hour) to meet Jaime for her surgeon appointment.  She had found out a couple of weeks ago that she has thyroid cancer..............pretty shocking for all of us but after meeting with the surgeon and also finding out through a more advanced ultrasound that the cancer hasn't spread to her lymph nodes, we feel more relieved.  Her surgery is scheduled for Nov. 6th to remove her thyroid and she'll take a good chunk of time off at work to recuperate.

Unfortunately they will not be moved into their new house by then (current move in time is estimated for mid-November) so she'll stay at our house for a few nights so I can pamper her and wait on her until she feels ready to move back home into their travel trailer, hopefully not for long though!

We're all praying her surgery will go well with no complications!
