Snowblind

It's the end of August - the razor is hopefully fixed - and it's time to get another camping trip in before Sept. arrives!  Let's head to Snowblind campground outside of Sargents and do some riding!

It was later morning when we got left as Glenn had to deliver the jeep to the buyer that morning - yes, WE SOLD THE JEEP!!  Awesome!

Always a nice drive over Monarch Pass and the trees are getting lighter with a lot of the lower brush already turning colors - fall will be here soon!

We found our usual spot and set up - Glenn was eager for a nap and I had a book calling me so we relaxed and grilled some steaks for dinner and took an evening ride!

It was nice and chilly the next morning but I still enjoyed a brisk walk around the campground before we headed out!  It was a gorgeous day out and not too dusty which sure made it nice!  Lots of spectacular scenary as we did a couple of passes!

It was a long day of riding so it felt good to get back to the camper and relax for a while!  Since we were only 8 miles from Sargents, we decided to go to Dottie's for dinner that evening!  Had a great meal and there's internet so we caught up on texts and emails!  It was getting pretty dark as we headed home and a bunch of elk ran right in front of us from the large hay field!  Good thing we were watching for them!

We headed to Pitkin the next day, one of my favorite spots!  Lunch was at the little kids fishing pond and there were sure a lot of fish swimming around as it's not very deep!

Hard to imagine that those mountains will be covered in snow soon enough!

I love that little campground - we had a couple of fires at night and it's so quiet and peaceful there - only a couple of other campers which makes it pretty darn private!

Nothing broke down on this trip - HOORAY!
