Sisters Weekend

Colorado was the destination for this years' sisters weekend!  After babysitting for 4 nights in Denver, I raced home to wash the windows, clean the house and prepare the food!  And then it was back up to Denver early Thursday morning to pick up Patty and Teri!

Patty arrived early - to the tune of 7:15am - but I didn't arrive Denver till about 8:00 and we had coffee and breakfast together before Teri arrived about 10:00am!  It was so good to see them and the drive back was full of talk and laughter!

We stopped at Wines of Colorado for lunch and sat at the open air patio after some wine tasting!
We enjoyed some nice wine with our lunch!

It was fun to show Teri our house as she hadn't been to Colorado since Glenn was working on it back in 2008!  None of us could remember why Teri was out since we hadn't done a sisters weekend at that time - after mulling it over for a long time, I pulled out my scrapbooks and Patty and Teri looked through the appropriate ones until they found the answer - Teri had flown out for a memorial service for our aunt!  Thank heavens for scrapbooks for all these things we don't remember!

We all enjoyed the hot tub that night and the stars were gorgeous!

Friday we headed to Cripple Creek - I was a little disappointed that the trees weren't in full autumn color when the girls arrived so decided to head over there by the Divide way - I was sure glad I did as the trees were gorgeous!!  We all ooh'd and aaahh'd over the brilliant aspen colors!!

Soon it was "tea time" for the sisters!  The regular gal that always serves the tea was not there this time but we enjoyed the gal taking her place and had a lovely tea!

We talked and talked - drank our tea - ate our sandwiches - and enjoyed the scones and a delicious moist cake that was out of this world!!

After tea it was time to head to Buena Vista to the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs!  The car was already packed with food, snacks, suits and comfy clothes!  We stopped at Wilkerson Pass for some pictures and aspen gazing.

Soon we arrived at Mt. Princeton and we couldn't wait to get in the hot springs!!!  To Be cont'd.....
