Girlfriend Fun

What do friends Karen, Marilyn, Amy and I all have in common?  We all used to live in Woodland Park!!  And I'm the only one left of the bunch that still lives here in Colorado!

After our Dallas trip together last year, we were all hoping to get together this summer and it worked out best to come to my house - Amy has relatives living here and since she's from Garden City, KS, it was an easy drive for her.  Marilyn now has a new grandson in Co. Springs since her son and wife moved back to Colorado so she had a reason to fly in from Asheville, NC.    And Karen who lives in Prescott, AZ still has many friends around so was willing to fly in too!

We all  met on Wednesday at our house and seemed to talk nonstop for the rest of the day!!  And guess what - the weather TURNED WARM!!!!  We were all so excited to see the sun and put on summer clothes!!

Happy hour on the deck was sure fun!

We had a campfire one evening and spent some time walking around on the rocks!

One evening we ate dinner in Florissant and had another friend meet us there - what fun catching up with her too!

We headed to the Fossil Beds one day for a short hike and a visit to the visitor center!

And we enjoyed going to the Farmers Market and driving around W. Pk to see the houses they all used to live in!!

I taught them how to play the card game SkyJo and we played many, many games of that along with a few more - now if I can JUST remember them!!  It sure was great to catch up with all of them and even though the elevation was a challenge, they all did great!!

Marilyn and Amy left mid morning on Saturday.  Karen and I headed over to Arlyne's for coffee and then to the Springs for a movie and lunch before I took her back to the airport!  Great friends - a great time!!
