Water Leak Woes

When you're staying in a rental house (and an OLD one at that) you have to be pretty darn flexible and take the issues with a grain of salt or you'll be a basket case!  It seems like there is always something that needs to be fixed around here and Glenn is handy enough that he can take care of a lot of things without bothering the property manager or the gardener!

But the water leak needed a plumber - Glenn knew RIGHT where the leak was and that was in the guest bedroom behind the plaster wall!  And when the plumber finally came, he dug around outside for a while and then came in (naturally Glenn was up at the neighbors) and then I showed him the place and that's where they dug through the wall and sure enough, there was the leak!

You can see all the water below in the hole - what a mess!

But we were only without water for a few hours till they went to town and got the new pipes and replaced them!  Here's the old pipes and you can see where the holes were - they were also rubbing against the rebar.

Someone was SUPPOSED to come in and get the wall and floor fixed but that didn't happen!  So Glenn and the gardener took it upon themselves to fix it - Glenn cemented down in the hole and Gilberto is fixing and replacing the tiles - he's actually here now finishing it all up!

In other news, Glenn caught this large yellowtail in the morning so he was thrilled - always nice to have fresh fish!

AND the same day the plumber came, the fiber optic guy came and installed the high speed internet - YES!!!!!!  The speed went from 1.5 to 50.5!  It's a JOY to download pictures for my blog now!
