Gosh was it hard to get Aleah and Kenzie on the schedule to come down for their summer fun with us! Between everything going on in the summer, it's getting harder and harder to schedule it! And I'm sure once they're a little older, they'll be getting summer jobs and this "special" time will be a thing of the past!
But right now they're 13 - oh that magical age where drama plays a big part of their lives and friends are everything at this point! I was excited to have them come down for 3 nights and spend time with them!
I met Jessi and the girls at our usual place, Pikes Perk - the girls specifically requested this place as they love the smoothies there!
Jessi and I got our coffee and talked and talked until it was time to leave - one quick picture of the 3 of us and it's a good thing Jessi took it as it was the only one we got!
The girls quickly settled into their bedroom!
Jaime came over that afteroon and gave them a crochet lesson! She's very patient when she's teaching and the girls spent quite a while practicing their new skills!
One of their requests was to to dip strawberries into the melted chocolate and that's just what they did! They also cut up a banana and dipped it - we enjoyed it all!
We celebrated Aleah's belated birthday with the chocolate covered strawberries and her gift from us!
In between the rains, they spent a lot of time outside on the swing and just hanging out! I love how they plan their wardrobes to match whenever they can!
Special coffee for Kenzie and cocoa for Aleah! I thought I ALWAYS took this picture every year they came but later found out I didn't take it last year - darn!
We had a campfire and they had fun roasting marshmallows and goofing off! It was a beautiful evening!
We packed a lot of stuff into those 3 days - more tomorrow!
