We were up bright and early on Monday morning - in fact, Teri and I ended up walking most mornings together just to get some exercise! We walked all over town (which isn't hard to do) and enjoyed some great talks!
This mornings' outing was heading to Charter Oak to see Don and Nadine - our only living aunt and uncle and they are also our godparents! Once again, Patty drove and we forgot what street they lived on!! I think we do this every time we visit!
It was great to see them and right behind us were the 4 cousins who surprised Don and Nadine! What a treat to have Nadine walk us through her basement and the tiny home and show us her treasures and tell us her stories - the cousins of course hadn't heard a lot of history so really enjoyed this!
We all sat down to a delicious brunch of special cookies Nadine had made, peach pie (my favorite!), crackers and cheese and coffee! Lots of stories were told!
Don and Nadine with their godchildren!
The whole bunch looking on!
First cousins! Brent is Don and Nadine's son and lives locally with his family.
Here is the tiny house that is filled with memorable items with stories to go along with them! What a fun time listening to Don and Nadine and spending special time with them!
Believe it or not, we were actually done sorting so the afternoon was at our leisure - we spent some time on the front porch talking and organized all the stuff we were bringing home - took a walk where Patty told us who lived where and enjoyed having Jim and Brenda stop in one more time to see us!
Thanks to Patty for hosting our get-together! It turned out to not only be a working trip, but a see the relative trip, and talking about old memories - what could be better?
Teri and Emily left early the next morning with Glenn and I right behind! Once again, a long drive that took even longer with construction delay! I did enjoy stopping in Kearney to get a special coffee - it's an easy on and off the interstate and there's a gas station right there also so a perfect stop!
Here's a picture of the "gnomes" I once again got from a lady who makes them in Soldier - one winter one and 2 fall ones!

Sounds like a fun trip. I’m glad you were able to get to Charter Oak to see the folks.
