We Lost One of the Best!

Peggy and Al - fantastic neighbors and good friends!  We have a worn path between our places that we've lined with solar lights so we can see our way home after we've been to each others' homes!

They moved in about a year after we moved into our new house!  We immediately became "good neighbors" and that turned into a great friendship!  Even though they were younger than us, we still got along great!

Peggy was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma last July - she chose to do the natural route at first - changing her eating habits, taking sugar out of her diet, etc.  All those things that she believed would help her!  But the most important was prayer - she was a very devout Christian and loved the Lord and praised his name whenever she could!

But Peggy continued to lose weight and we all feared it wasn't going to end well.  She flew to Mexico to a medical place right across the border and was there for 2 weeks doing holistic procedures - but it was just too late....

Al took Peggy to the hospital mid December and unfortunately she never got to return home - the tumor in her body was large and wrapped around her intestines - 3 surgeries - it was so hard to see her like that.

We visited several times and since Peggy had chemo, she began to lose her hair so ordered wigs to have onhand!  On one of our trips down, she insisted Glenn and I try on the wigs!  And you don't say no to Peggy!

I babysat Peggy's grandchild, Jay, many times - daughter Ashley is from Florida!

Peggy always had a smile on her face!  And she LOVED cowboy hats and showing her out of state friends, the beauty of Colorado!  We shared many meals together, an ice fishing trip to New Mexico and evenings by the campfire!

Peggy died on Jan. 24th - she fought hard but the hardship on her body was just too much!  Her funeral was Friday the 27th and we were able to attend before heading out to Mexico on Sunday.  She touched many peoples' lives during her time on earth!  There is no doubt in anyones' mind where she is at today!

I'll leave you with one of my favorite photos taken last fall around our campfire!

Rest in peace Peggy - I KNOW you are singing and dancing with the Lord!
