These 2 girls LOVE spending a few days with us, especially since they're great friends along with being cousins! Actually, they wanted the Keppys to go home right after Sunday breakfast so they could have more time without them around - but that didn't happen! It was after dinner before the Keppys left!
But that's OK - they had 2 full days and 3 nights to NOT be around parents! (And actually more as you'll see in the next blog!)
I had forgot to stop at Papa Murphy's when I was in town so asked Jessi if she could stop to get the chocolate chip cookie dough - our favorite!! But it wasn't to be - they no longer carry the cookie dough!!! Oh gosh - now what? Pull out the recipe book and make our own using my mom's recipe - it was delicous!
We went to Wild Horse so the girls could have smoothies - and of course I had some coffee - delicious!
They have a great volleyball setup there so the girls played for a while but that sun was pretty intense!
Monday noon we headed to the food pantry - both girls were back helping me but they were short for handing out desserts so Aleah went out there to help!
They worked for 2 1/2 hours and then Rayna and her roommate picked them up in Divide and went out to the house to hang out! Aleah had requested tacos that night so we all ate together!
Lots of games and cards were played!
I didn't forget to take their annual picture on the front deck with their cocoa!
We went to town on Tuesday - the girls decided they didn't want to swim so I gave them the money I would have spent on swimming and they went shopping - $ Store, Walmart and Goodwill! We were all disappointed when the dressing rooms at Goodwill were closed down - corporate decision - what a bummer!! I can't imagine buying everything I want to try on - take it home and try on at home - and then take it back to Goodwill when it doesn't fit, only to get a store credit instead of your money back! I'm afraid they're going to lose a lot of business this way!
Kenzie's decision for dinner was Cheeseburger Soup - which is delicious but it is time consuming to make!
The girls wanted a campfire one night to roast marshmallows and stick a strawberry inside! We should have done it the first night as the next 2 nights it was WAY too windy for a fire.......
We took a walk up Brittany Dr that evening! One of the neighbors dog was out and Aleah insisted that he wouldn't come any closer out of their yard as he had one of those collars on that would stop him - boy was she surprised when the darn dog came out on the road!! Glenn had rocks ready to throw at him and yelled !
One of the interesting things about this years' time with the girls, was that whenever I took a picture, they both had to see it and approve it - otherwise it was deleted and another one was taken! I assured them that it only goes on the blog and their yearly book at Christmas but it didn't matter - they STILL had to see each picture - thought that was kind of funny!!!
Hooray for another successful girls time!

Those girls sure love their time with you! You make it so special for them! And yes, every picture I take of Aleah has to be "approved"!
OH those girls!! I chuckled many times reading your blog. I love they have each other and love that you take time to spend with them! Definitely a summer highlight for them!!!
